Background

According to research, trust in institutions has hit historic lows— coincidentally at a time when powerful AI systems emerge that demand even high-levels of trust.

Blockchains offer a solution.

Blockchains are systems that reduce trust requirements by enabling independent verification of actions and claims through cryptographic proofs and economic incentives. Their decentralized, immutable, and censorship-resistant properties make them ideal for verifying trust off-chain.

But they are siloed from one another and largely disconnected from the off-chain world. 

That’s why we built Imua, the universe protocol for shared security. A purpose-built L1, Imua aggregates economic security from multiple blockchains through re/staking and extends it to off-chain systems for trust verification.

We built Imua to solve problems we experienced firsthand as builders in the blockchain space for the past ten years. Existing solutions didn't fit our criteria, so we opted to build it ourselves, for our own usage. Imua is actually being used to bootstrap itself as a verifiable trust machine (read how), so we are dogfooding our own design.
